Lemont Residents Create Program To Share Community History

The two residents have worked with Lemont Township to interview Lemont seniors and their families.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont residents Lenore Duffy and Darlene Blanz have created a program which aims to learn more about the history of Lemont seniors as well as the community. Duffy and Blanz created 'Let's Chat,' with 'chat' standing for communicating history across time.

The two residents have worked with Lemont Township to interview Lemont seniors and their families, and have been recording their lives in booklet form. You can read these booklets at the township, the library or the historical society.

Duffy said the idea came about after both her and Blanz worked with Meals on Wheels and met many seniors who had some amazing stories. The pair has completed seven stories so far, and continues to find more seniors to interview.
