Lemont Robotics Team Reaches International Competition
The team consists of six Lemont juniors and seniors.
LEMONT, IL — A Lemont robotics team has earned its way to an international competition this summer. Enki Robotics consists of six Lemont high school juniors and seniors. The group recently competed at a regional event, and placed second, earning the right to compete at the International ROV competition in June, which will be held in Washington.
The team is not affiliated with LHS, but all members are LHS students, coach Yoriko Bacon said. Her and her husband Jeremie host the team in their "basement lab."
Bacon said they host the team in order for some of the STEM-minded, bright and enthusiastic students to create their own remotely operated vehicle from scratch without any adult help so they can learn how to design, engineer, code, build and experiment on their product.
