Lemont’s Drama Club Welcomes Audience On Stage For 80s Musical Comedy 'Xanadu'
The production of "Xanadu" is set to run in the Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. nightly, Jan. 29-31.
LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School’s Drama Club will welcome its audience to the Performing Arts Stage as it features “Xanadu” for nightly shows from Jan. 29 through Jan. 31. In conjunction with the play, Lemont High School’s Art Department will host an exhibition in Gallery 306, LHS shared in a news release.
The production of “Xanadu” is set to run in the Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased online at Lemont High School’s website. A limited number of tickets are available for each show. A majority of seats for the show will be located on stage, the school said.
Based on the cult classic film featuring Olivia Newton-John, “Xanadu” is a rollicking, roller-skating, 80s-themed musical comedy. “Xanadu” is based on the book by Douglas Carter Beane, with music and lyrics from Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. It is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International, according to a news release.

“Xanadu” will be performed under the direction of Brenda Perez de Tejada.
The winter art exhibition in Gallery 306 featuring student art will be open from 5:45-6:45 p.m. nightly before the play.

Those planning to attend any performance of “Xanadu” may park in the school’s parking garage or in the lot outside the Performing Arts Center; both are accessible off of Julia Street.
