Lemont’s FBLA Qualifies For State Competition In A School-Record 32 Events

Lemont students placed first in 11 team competitions and 10 individual events.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) placed among the top four in 32 events at the Central Northern Area Conference regional, which was hosted by Lincoln-Way East High School in December, according to a news release from LHS.

The top four finishers in each event earned the opportunity to participate at the 2026 FBLA State Leadership Conference, which will be held April 10-11 in Springfield.

The 32 events marks the school’s most state qualifiers in one year, the school said. Lemont students placed first in 11 team competitions and 10 individual events.

Team winners included seniors Olivia Sarno and Addyson Wolfe (Business Ethics), Parker Hsu and Jean-Eduard Rodriguez (Social Media Strategies), and Hannon Bardachowski, Hunter Magolan and Ethan Spadafora (Computer Game Simulation & Programming); juniors Adam Dunkin and Karm Patel (Coding & Programming), Luke Auskalnis, Max Elizondo and Christian Merkouris (Financial Planning), Andrew Ascolani, Marco Mancini and Brandon Potaczek (Management Information Systems), and Jokubas Augaitis, Aras Gedgaudas and Gabriel Zarycki (Sales Presentation); sophomores Molleigh Knitter and Isabella Sanchez (Broadcast Journalism), Ryan Gal and Patrick Sobula (Digital Animation), and Josiah Adichithara, Aarav Anand and Luke Kazmierczak (Introduction to Social Media Strategy); and freshmen Abby Drobnic and Kendall Lee (Event Planning).

Individual winners included seniors Joey Fiore (Financial Statement Analysis), Nina Risatti (Business Communication) and Eamon Salmon (Digital Video Production); sophomores Liam Davidson (Introduction to Supply Chain Management), John Perry (Website Design), Alex Tchernev (Introduction to Programming), Aidan Tracy (Introduction to Business Communication) and Medha Vicharapu (Introduction to Public Speaking); and freshmen Gabriela Bilek (Data Analysis) and Sareen Sharma (Introduction to Business Procedures).

Juniors Jonas Kimantas and Jakub Szaflarski (Public Service Announcement) and sophomores Daniel Khan and Will Sagotz (Entrepreneurship) were the runners-up in their events, as were seniors Lorelei Dimitropoulos (Public Administration & Management) and Maggie Sinnett (Advertising), sophomore Shaan Sharma (Introduction to FBLA), and freshmen Cameron Potaczek (Business Management) and Amelia Zagata (Visual Design), LHS shared.

Juniors Josh Bak and Jack Simpson (Business Plan) and sophomore Tomas Taujanskas (Introduction to Business Presentation) earned third-place finishes, while senior Peter Madden (Economics) and junior Eli Zogby (Public Speaking) placed fourth.
