LEMONT, IL — There are several vacancies for various positions for residents to serve the village. The village is accepting applications for village trustee, the planning and zoning commission and a newly-created downtown redevelopment stakeholder group.

The downtown redevelopment group is a new focus group created for residents to get involved in the downtown revitalization efforts, the village said. The group will be give updates on downtwon initiatives and will be asked for input. The group will most likely meet once a month.

The planning and zoning commission is asked to provide input and recommendations on development plans and requests for the village. The commission reviews zoning changes, variation requests and more before the village board's review. The commission meets the first Wednesday of every month, and sometimes there are special meetings as well.
