Lemont Selects Queen Of St. Patrick's Day Parade
Coming from a strong Irish heritage, Conway's paternal grandparents are from County Kerry in Ireland.

LEMONT, IL — LHS senior Lucile "Lucy" Conway has been selected as Queen of the 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade to be held on Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m. in historic downtown Lemont. According to a release from the village, Conway is a life-long resident of Lemont, a member of the LHS National Honor Society, a Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) member, and a peer math tutor to other students.
Conway also has the distinction of being an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Athletic Scholar and is on the LHS cross country team and softball team. Her college plans include studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in math.
The village said Conway has a strong sense of community. Her family has a love for rescue animals, and she has taken the time to give back to local animal shelters in the community. She also participates in many Hope & Friendship Foundation service events in the community and at her church.

Coming from a strong Irish heritage, Conway’s paternal grandparents are from County Kerry in Ireland. Her grandfather, Thomas Conway, is from Lixnaw and her grandmother, Margaret Conway, nee Slattery, is from Tralee. The village said Lucy is one of Tom and Ann Conway’s three daughters.
