Lemont Softball Returns To State Semifinals, Faces Benet Friday
The defending state champs, Lemont will play Benet Academy in the IHSA Class 3A semifinals on Friday.
LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's softball team is headed to the state finals tournament for the third straight year, after Monday's 6-0 win over Metamora in super sectional competition.
Lemont will face Lisle's Benet Academy in the semifinals of the IHSA Class 3A state tournament on Friday, at 10 a.m. The state finals tournament is at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria.
Lemont is looking to retain its state championship crown, as it won the 2022 Class 3A softball state championship against St. Ignatius. Last year, the softball program was the fourth LHS athletic program to win a team state championship, joining the baseball, cheerleading and wrestling programs.

The other two teams in the tournament are Antioch and Charleston. The teams that lose the semifinals game will match up in the third-place game, while the two teams that win the semifinals will head to the state championship game, which will be played on Saturday.
