Lemont Township Trustee Resigns, New Trustee Appointed

Frank Wozniak resigned as trustee in December, and Michael Shackel has been appointed to the vacancy.

LEMONT, IL — After nearly 40 years of serving on the Lemont Township board, Trustee Frank Wozniak resigned from his position in December.

Wozniak first joined the board in 1980. According to his letter of resignation, Wozniak is resigning due to health issues.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the support and friendship you have given me throughout my time as trustee," Wozniak wrote. "It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of Lemont for almost 40 years."

At the township board meeting Jan. 14, the board appointed and approved Michael Shackel to fill the vacancy.

An open house is also planned to celebrate Wozniak's years of service to the township. The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba St.
