Lemont Village Trustee Kwasneski Submits Resignation

Kwasneski said he is resigning due to increased responsibilities in his professional career.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont village trustee Ryan Kwasneski has announced he will be resigning from the Lemont village board after two years of his four-year term. In his letter of resignation, Kwasneski said he is resigning due to increased responsibilities in his professional career.

"The people of Lemont deserve someone who can fully execute these duties to continue to move Lemont into the future," Kwasneski wrote. "I will cherish the time I've spent serving the Village as a Planning & Zoning Commissioner and Village Trustee for the past 8 years. It has been a true pleasure serving on the Village of Lemont Board and I know based on the work we have done over the last 2 years that the direction the Village is heading is a good one."

Kwasneski wished the mayor and trustees the best and thanked the citizens who supported him.

"I can confidently say that together we have moved the needle on the goals we set for the village," he wrote. "Businesses are returning to our vacant buildings and we have been smart with the developments that we have approved. I look forward to watching the community continue to work with our village leaders as we all move down the path to a better tomorrow for our village and will continue to help as I am able.”

Kwasneski plans to continue his term through to the Aug. 12 board meeting.
