Lemont's Athletic Hall of Fame to Welcome Another Induction Class

Ceremony will be held Sept. 20.

As Lemont High School celebrates its 125th Anniversary in 2015, the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame will welcome another group of inductees. The Athletic Hall of Fame will enshrine its 11th induction class at a ceremony on Sunday, September 20, at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Ill. Included among the honorees will be Kristen (Carvell) Bogun ‘00, Randy Bromberek ‘92 and Connie Weaver-Hesslau ‘81.

The 2015 Lemont High School Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony will begin with a reception at noon on September 20. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m., with the induction ceremony beginning at approximately 1:45 p.m. Cog Hill Golf Club is located at 12294 Archer Avenue in Lemont.

Tickets are $25 each; reservations must be made through the Lemont High School Athletic Department by Wednesday, September 16. To make a reservation, call the athletic department at (630) 243-3207.

RANDY BROMBEREK ‘92 – Earned a total of nine varsity letters in baseball, basketball and football... earned three letters in baseball... All-Area selection in baseball in both 1991 and 1992... All-Southwest Suburban Conference honoree in baseball as both a junior and senior... team captain and MVP as a senior in 1992... Chicago Tribune Player of the Week in 1992 after narrowly missing consecutive no-hitters... earned three letters in football... quarterbacked Lemont to consecutive IHSA Class 3A Playoff appearances in 1990 and 1991... All-Southwest Suburban Conference honoree in football as a senior in 1991... football team captain and MVP in 1991... KRISTEN (CARVELL) BOGUN ‘00 – Four-year varsity starter in girls’ volleyball... Suburban Prairie Conference MVP in both 1998 and 1999... Chicago Tribune and Champaign News-Gazette All-State honoree as a senior in 1999... cited to the Chicago Sun-Times and Daily Southtown All-Area Teams in both 1998 and 1999... team captain and MVP as both a junior and senior... helped team to three 20-win seasons... squad went 28-6-1 and was undefeated in the Suburban Prairie Conference in 1998... team posted an undefeated regular season, won the Suburban Prairie Conference, and finished 36-1 in 1999... the 36-match win streak in 1999 is a school record and ranks among the state’s all-time bests... three-time national medalist in club volleyball with Sports Performance... 1999 AAU All-American who helped Sports Performance to a national championship... All-Northeast Conference honoree in bowling and soccer... cited as the “Most Athletic” in the Class of 1981.. finished 8th at the bowling state tournament in 1980... was 6th at the bowling state tournament in 1981... Track and Field District Champion... ranked among the state’s top 10 runners in the 3200 meter run... member of the Girls Athletic Association... Foreign Language Club student... ran indoor track at Northern Illinois University... has run marathons in Anchorage, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, Grand Rapids (Mich.), Phoenix and St. George (Utah)... winner of Chicago’s J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge while running for both Arthur Andersen and Molex.
