Lemont's Danny Dirst Honored by Chicago Blackhawks
The hockey player was chosen for the organization's "High School Captain" spotlight series.

Lemont High School senior Danny Dirst has been selected to be highlighted by the Chicago Blackhawks in their new “High School Captain” spotlight series. As a candidate, Danny had to provide a biography of his hockey career, complete with accomplishments and awards. In addition, his coach provided a letter of recommendation, which detailed Danny’s sportsmanship and leadership qualities.
Danny was provided with two tickets to the Blackhawks’ 3-2 shootout win over the Florida Panthers on February 24, and was asked to arrive early to record an interview that will be shown on “Blackhawks TV” - the club’s Internet outlet.
Danny is the varsity captain of the Lockport/Lemont Spartans, which is comprised of students from both Lemont High School and Lockport High School. Danny has 15 goals and 13 assists this season from his forward position. He also has achieved honor roll accolades at Lemont High School.
