“Our chapter is excited to be hosting ‘Lemont v Hunger’ to benefit those in need in our community,” senior John Vranas, President of Lemont High School’s National Honor Society, said in a news release. “For this NHS Board, our commitment is to go above and beyond the usual events and activities of the NHS. We hope that the community will join us in supporting this event and helping us achieve our goal of packing 50,000 meals.”

Each meal costs just 35 cents, but to meet its goal of packing 50,000 meals, the National Honor Society has set a fundraising target of $17,500. To accomplish this, it is seeking sponsorships from the community and encouraging online donations from the community, the school said.
