Lemont's Performing Arts Center to Feature Three Nights of 'Footlight Frenzy'

Performances set for Feb. 12–14.

Lemont High School’s Drama Club is set to feature some slapstick humor with its winter play. From February 12-14, “Footlight Frenzy” will play on the Performing Arts Center stage.

The school’s production of “Footlight Frenzy” is set to run nightly from Thursday, February 12, through Saturday, February 14. Performances will begin in the school’s Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. each evening. Tickets may be purchased at the door, and are $10 for adults and $7 for children, senior citizens and students with a valid school ID.

“Footlight Frenzy” was written by Ron House, Alan Shearman, Bud Slocomb and Diz White. The work chronicles the Parent-Teacher Association for the bankrupt “School for Unusual Children” and its desperate attempt to save the school with an ambitious benefit play written by a has-been Broadway director. He is enlisted to direct a group of actors with questionable talent, and with scenes toggling back and forth between the real tribulations of the performers and the play they are performing, it will be difficult for the audience to determine which is sillier.
