Lemont's Performing Arts Center Stage to Host 'Mr. LHS' Contest on March 13
Males from all grade levels will compete for the title of Mr. LHS.

Lemont High School’s Junior Class and Athletic Council will team to host the “Mr. LHS” contest on Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. The event will pit male students from several grade levels against each other as they compete for the “Mr. LHS” crown. Proceeds from the “Mr. LHS” contest will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Juniors Jack Buday and Olivia Matthews will serve as hosts for the event, which will include four rounds of competition.
This year will see a change in the format of the competition, as all contestants will take part in each of the four rounds of the evening’s festivities. The evening will start with the talent round, with contestants having up to one minute to show off the talent of their choice.
The fashion round will follow, with contestants getting the opportunity to choose their own outfits. The trivia round is next, as competitors tackle as many questions as they can in a limited amount of time; those questions have been collected from the school’s academic departments.

The epic final round will consist of a lip sync battle; contestants will be provided a list of songs in advance, but will choose their song in front of the audience.
At the conclusion of the final round, the audience will vote on the best of the talent, fashion and lip sync competitions, and ultimately select this year’s “Mr. LHS.” A “Mr. Lifesaver” award will be given to the contestant who raised the most money in conjunction with this year’s event.

Lemont High School is located at 800 Porter Street in Lemont.
Lemont’s Junior Class is sponsored by Special Education teacher Stephenie Campanile, World Languages Chair Christie Klingsporn and Spanish teacher Ann Rodriguez-Baltrum. Athletic Director John Young is responsible for the Athletic Council.
