LHS Addresses Social Media Threat

Representatives from the Lemont Police Department were made aware of the situation and have identified the individual who sent the message.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School sent out an email to parents and families on Tuesday evening regarding a social media threat made to the school. Administrators were made aware of an inappropriate communication that was made on social media by a student, the school said.

According to the email, representatives from the Lemont Police Department were made aware of the situation and have identified the individual who sent the message. Police continue to investigate the situation, and they do not believe that any students, faculty or staff will be in danger at the school.

The school said there will be an increased presence on campus this week by the Lemont Police Department for precautionary reasons. The school will continue to work with police to monitor the situation and will take any necessary precautions.
