LHS Basketball Player Signs Letter Of Intent

Lemont High School senior Nate Ferguson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at Drake University.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School senior Nate Ferguson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men’s basketball at Drake University beginning in Fall 2019. The school said Ferguson will become the fourth Lemont graduate to play NCAA Division I men’s basketball, joining Don Laketa ‘50 (University of Wichita; now Wichita State University), Tom Leffler ‘75 (Murray State University), and PJ Pipes ‘17 (University of Wisconsin-Green Bay).

Nate Ferguson – Career Highlights

  • 6’7” forward who has earned two varsity letters for head coach Rick Runaas
  • Has been named a team captain for the 2018-19 season
  • Has averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 54 career games
  • Is a 52 percent career shooter from the field, and a 38 percent career shooter from 3-point range
  • Helped the team to a composite 35-21 record over the last two seasons, which included one runner-up finish in the South Suburban Conference and a third-place finish
  • Plays travel basketball for Chicago LockDown
  • Honor roll student
