LHS Bowler Makes IHSA Girls' Bowling State Finals Debut

Lemont High School senior bowler Kendra Anifer has earned her first state finals berth.

LEMONT, IL — In her final opportunity, Lemont High School senior bowler Kendra Anifer has earned her first state finals berth. The school said her performance at the IHSA Romeoville Sectional on Feb. 9 was good enough to earn an at-large berth to the 2019 IHSA Girls’ Bowling State Finals, which will be contested at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford on Feb. 15-16.

Anifer is Lemont’s first state qualifier from head coach Mark Hollatz’s girls’ bowling program since 2015.

The school said Anifer had a six-game pinfall of 1,223 (203.8 average) at the sectional, which was contested at Joliet’s Town and Country Lanes. She placed eighth individually, and fifth among bowlers whose teams did not qualify for the IHSA State Finals.
