LHS Cheerleading State Champs Honored
The LHS Cheerleading squad won its fifth state championship recently.

LEMONT, IL- A reception was held on March 8 at Lemont High School to honor the school's 2017 IHSA State Champion cheerleading squad.
At the reception, Mayor Pro-Tem Paul Chialdikas read a proclamation from the village congratulating the cheerleaders.
"The Lemont Cheerleading squad has never finished lower than fourth in IHSA cheerleading state finals," he said.

The squad captured the program’s fifth state championship, and earned a state trophy for the 11th time in 12 seasons. Lemont's 11 state trophies are the most in the history of the IHSA State Series.
Chialdikas recognized the squad's passion and persistence, and thanked the parents and coaching staff of the team.

The team's head coach is Dave Erlenbaugh. The team is comprise of seniors Claudia DeSantis, Alyssa Gorski, Caitlyn Henry, Olivia LaDuke, Morgan Pukula and Gianna Sabanov; juniors Gia Baldassano, Rebecca Bertram, Katie Boyle, Andrew Gonzalez, Julie Hughes, Claudia Kociubinski, Lucy Kraker and Stephanie Pinczes; sophomores Lizzie Adell, Juliana DeSantis and Kate Roenitz; and freshman Hailey Dennis.
