LHS Dedicates New Innovation Academy
The school's library was transformed into the CITGO Innovation Academy thanks to a partnership between Lemont High School, CITGO and LHSEF.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School will host a “National STEM Day” celebration on campus from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the CITGO Innovation Academy at Lemont High School. The school said the Innovation Academy has been serving students, faculty and staff since the start of the school year, and it will officially be dedicated prior to the “National STEM Day” event in a ceremony that will include local government officials, representatives from CITGO and other guests.
The “National STEM Day” event will feature a program from 6:30-7 p.m. and STEM activities and live demonstrations from 7-8:30 p.m. The event is free and intended for students of all ages.

According to the school, the space features new paint and flooring, modular seating that can be rearranged for groups of all sizes, collaboration rooms, a classroom setting that can serve as many as 100 students, and a state-of-the-art STEM classroom with new equipment, supplies and training resources. The CITGO Innovation Academy at Lemont High School will also soon include a coffee bar that will be staffed by some of the school’s special education students.
Programming at the CITGO Innovation Academy at Lemont High School will encourage students to explore career paths in science, technology, engineering and math, the school said.
