LHS FBLA Totals Nine Top Three Finishes At Regionals
Lemont students placed first in one team competition and three individual events.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America placed among the top three in nine of its 10 events at the Central Northern Area Conference regional, which was contested at Lincoln-Way East High School Jan. 18.
LHS said students in Lemont’s FBLA chapter were among nearly 180 competitors representing seven Chicago-area high schools at the Central Northern Area Conference regional.
Lemont students placed first in one team competition and three individual events. According to the school, sophomores Jayne Pelen and Jackie Wencl triumphed in Social Media Campaign, while individual winners included sophomores Gracie Meloni (Public Speaking) and Adam Yaagoub (Intro to Financial Math) and freshman Lauren Meyer (Intro to Business Presentation).

Seniors Abeezar Kanpurwala and Anish Sabnis teamed for a second place in Marketing; seniors Abigail Belsan and Loukas Ziogas finished as the runner-up in Social Media; and senior Emily Knutte placed second in Agribusiness.
Seniors Jake Konieczka and Ella Pelen were third in Emerging Business Issues, while juniors Sean Abbott and Devin Shah placed third in Global Business.
