LHS To Feature "Cinderella" As Spring Musical, Gallery 306
LHS will feature "Cinderella," as well as GALLERY 306 from May 9-11.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School will feature "Cinderella" as its spring musical from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May 11, at the Performing Arts Center. In conjunction with the musical, the school’s Art Department will feature its latest exhibit – “It’s Possible: Intention to Depiction” – in “GALLERY 306.”
With the original book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, original music by Richard Rodgers, and new book by Douglas Carter Beane, all performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Cinderella," which will be produced by Dave Nommensen, will begin at 7 p.m., and tickets are on sale now for each performance, the school said. All tickets are $15, and all seats in the Performing Arts Center - including the balcony and main level - are reserved seats.
Tickets may be purchased online. Pending availability, tickets may be purchased at the door each evening via credit card or with cash or check.

This is the 2013 Broadway version of the show, and is a contemporary take on the classic tale, the school said. It features some beloved songs, as well as some new characters and twists.
According to the school, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Cinderella" will be directed by Paula Smith and choreographed by Jeni Donahue, with orchestral direction by Matt Doherty and vocal direction by Stephanie Cesaroni. Brett Baleskie will head up set design and construction and Matt Davis will serve as the backstage technical supervisor. Designers for the production will include Patrick Heffernan (lighting), Tom Kieffer (costumes), Bob Kuper (make-up) and Max Thalhammer (sound). Mary Mauch will serve as the accompanist, while Dawn Scuderi will serve as the front-of-house manager. DJ Long designs the posters, cast shirts and program covers.

The school said “It’s Possible: Intention to Depiction” will be juried by alumna Haley Simone ‘11. “GALLERY 306” will be open from 5:45-6:45 p.m. nightly from May 9-11, spotlighting a variety of work from Lemont High School students.
