LHS Figure Skating Club Places First In Competition

The LHS Figure Skating Club captured first place at a recent competition.

LEMONT, IL - Last fall, three LHS freshmen, Emilija Vaciulis, Lucia Jaquez and Nicole Metzler, decided to form the Lemont High School Figure Skating Club, which is sponsored by counselor Andrea Heinz.

According to a press release from Lemont High school, the team’s hard work paid off this month with a first place finish in the Juvenile through Novice Division at a U.S. Figure Skating-sanctioned event at Oakton Ice Area in Park Ridge.

While there are many events offered within the competitions, the LHS team competes in Team Maneuvers, which competitors are judged on spins, jumps and step sequences.
