LHS To Host Parent 'Social Media Night'
The presentation will cover a variety of social media issues, including dangers that can arise from the use of social media.
LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School will host a parent “Social Media Night” in the board room at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 14. The school said this event is free to attend and open to all current Lemont High School parents/guardians, as well as parents/guardians of middle school students.
Lemont High School dean Brent Gagnon and police liaison officer Det. Robert Keane will present.
According to the school, the presentation will cover a variety of social media issues, including dangers that can arise from the use of social media. Sexting, cyberbullying, and the dark Web all will be discussed, as will the possible consequences students may face if they don’t utilize social media properly. Parents/guardians will be provided with information on how social media may be used correctly, as well suggestions on how they can monitor their students’ social media use.
