LHS Junior Achievement Now Selling “Nightmare on State Street"

"Nightmare on State Street" features scary tales that take place in Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement company has produced a Lemont-centric book of scary stories that will keep you up at night. Pre-orders are being accepted now for “Nightmare on State Street.”

The school said “Nightmare on State Street” features scary tales that take place in Lemont. Stories were submitted by a variety of Lemont High School stakeholders, ranging from students, faculty and staff to the community at-large. Art students from Lemont High School and Old Quarry Middle School brought the stories alive with original illustrations.

To preorder the book, visit the school website and choose ‘Junior Achievement’ under the “Student Activities” tab. Books are $10 during the pre-order period, which runs through Friday, Jan. 31. The price increases to $15 Feb. 1.

Books may be picked up inside the main entrance at Lemont High School from 2:45-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Thursday, Feb. 20.

The school said this year’s Junior Achievement board includes seniors Ella Pelen (President) and Andrew Juarez (Finance), junior Chris Vasvery (Customer Service), and sophomores Claudia Palarz (Marketing) and Joey Spadafora (Supply Chain).

Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement entries have earned seven Chicagoland “Company of the Year” accolades in the last 11 years, including victories in both 2018 and 2019.
