Lemont’s Junior Achievement organization annually builds a business from scratch, the school said. A student-led board creates a product, sells stock in the company and markets the product, with a goal of reaping dividends for its shareholders.

This year’s Junior Achievement board includes seniors Andrew Kiel (Team Leader of Supply Chain), Lydia Pelen (Co-Team Leader of Finance), Nathan Tilly (President) and Natalia Zagata (Team Leader of Marketing), and juniors Jovana Maksimovich (Team Leader of Customer Service & Sales) and Milena Maksimovich (Co-Team Leader of Finance).

Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement entries have earned nine Chicagoland “Company of the Year” accolades in the last 15 years, including its most recent victory in 2023.
