LHS Offers Hybrid Learning Plan For Fall

Families will be able to choose between a hybrid plan or a full-remote option.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School will present families with two option for the fall: hybrid learning or full-time remote learning. According to the school website, if parents choose the in-person option, students will be in-person learning two to three days a week, and e-learning for the remaining days.

The first day of school has also been pushed back one week from Aug. 17 to Aug. 24.

Students will be divided into two groups based on last name, and will alternate two days of in-person instruction with two days of remote instruction. The day will begin at 8 a.m. for in-person learning, and will end at 12:55 p.m. According to the plan, there will be no lunch period.

For families who choose full-time remote learning, they must remain in this option for the entire semester.

According to the plan, face coverings must be worn at all times inside the building. Students who refuse to comply with the requirement will be sent home. All students and employees must also self-certify each day that they are symptom free.

"Please note that these initial plans are subject to change in response to new and/or revised requirements and guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, or Governor Pritzker’s office," the district said on its website.
