LHS Offers SAT Prep Programs For Juniors

Lemont High School's Class of 2019 will take the SAT on Tuesday, April 10.

LEMONT, IL — Beginning in January, Lemont High School will offer SAT 1600, an eight-week test preparation program designed to familiarize students with the SAT. Registration has begun for SAT 1600, which is open to all Lemont High School juniors, as well as juniors from other area schools.

The school said students may choose between two eight-week programs, each of which consists of two-hour weekly sessions that run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lemont High School. The first session begins on Tuesday, Jan. 23, and will meet each Tuesday through March 13. The second session will meet on Wednesdays from Jan. 24 through March 14. Students in both sessions will take a Practice SAT during the week of March 5.

The course costs $300 for the eight sessions, which includes the textbook and Practice SAT. According to the school, the deadline to register for one of the two SAT 1600 programs is Friday, Dec. 22, or when all sections are filled. Students must register and pay online at www.exceledgeinc.com.

The Illinois State Board of Education mandates that all school districts participate in an annual statewide assessment. Lemont High School’s Class of 2019 will take the SAT on Tuesday, April 10.
