LHS Ranked Among State's Best For 2018: US News
U.S. News & World Report released its annual list of best high schools in the country. See how Lemont ranked.

LEMONT, IL — U.S. News & World Report released its 2018 rankings of the best high schools in Illinois, and Lemont High School is ranked 30th in the state, according to the magazine. Lemont earned a silver medal, and is ranked 1,241 in the national rankings. The 2018 best high school rankings were released Wednesday and evaluate more than 20,500 public high schools.
U.S. News identified schools that best serve all students and assessed how prepared students are for college-level work. Schools are also recognized with gold, silver and bronze medals with gold indicating the greatest level of college readiness.
On its "scorecard," Lemont received a college readiness index of 41.2 out of 100, a mathematics proficiency of 58 percent and a reading proficiency of 61 percent.

LHS improved its ranking nearly 30 spots from last year, when it was ranked 58th in the state. This year, Lemont was right above Infinity Math Science and Tech High School in Chicago and right below Naperville North High School.
