LHS Senior Posts Career-Best Finish At 2018 Girls’ Golf Finals

Micetich used a final round 77 to move into a tie for 27th place individually at the 2018 IHSA Class AA Girls' Golf State Finals.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School senior golfer Maggie Micetich made her last round as a high schooler one to remember. The school said Micetich used a final round 77 to move into a tie for 27th place individually at the 2018 IHSA Class AA Girls’ Golf State Finals, which were contested on Oct. 12-13 at Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur. Micetich, who was making her second state finals appearance, posted the best state finals round in program history.

Over 36 holes, Micetich posted a +15 159 (82-77). According to the school, she was tied for 39th individually after the first day of competition after shooting a +10 82. However, she shot a +5 77 over the final 18 holes, which included 11 pars and a birdie. That effort lifted her to a tie for 27th in the final standings.

Micetich is one of just four players in program history to advance to state finals competition, and just the second to earn multiple berths. In 2015, the school said she became the first freshman in program history to advance to state finals competition; she tied for 40th at the 2015 IHSA Class AA State Finals.
