LHS Student Athletes Make College Commitments
Three Lemont High School seniors have made commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
LEMONT, IL — Three Lemont High School seniors have made commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The school said Cade Campos has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Illinois State University; Maggie Micetich has signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Loyola University Chicago; and Nick Stricker has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Eastern Illinois University.
Cade Campos – Career Highlights
- Three-year letterman for head coach Bret Kooi
- Totaled 289 tackles (153 solo), 49 tackles-for-loss, 9 sacks, five fumble recoveries and five pass breakups during his career, twice earning all-conference honors
- Helped the Indians to a 26-8 record, two South Suburban Conference-Blue Division titles, and two IHSA Quarterfinal appearances
- Earned Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 6A All-State honors as a senior in 2018, while also receiving All-SSC and all-area honors from the Daily Southtown, Joliet Herald News and Suburban Life Newspapers
- Led the squad with 104 tackles (53 solo) as a senior, was second on the squad with a career-best 20 tackles-for-loss, and tied for third on the team with three sacks
- Earned his first varsity playing time as a sophomore in 2016

- Will play for head coach Brock Spack at Illinois State University, an NCAA Division I Football Championship Series institution that is located in Normal, and is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

- Is the most accomplished girls’ golfer in school history, becoming the first player in school history to lead the team in scoring average four straight seasons
- One of only two players in school history to twice reach the IHSA Girls’ Golf State Finals
- Three-time conference champion and three-time team MVP who helped the team to four straight Intra-Conference Meet titles
- Totaled 34 medalist finishes over four seasons
- Owns the top five 9-hole scores and the top two 18-hole scores in program history
- Posted the top two single-season scoring averages in program history, and three of the top four scoring averages overall
- Posted a 39.5 scoring average as a senior in 2018 and earned her third straight team MVP award
- Posted the program’s best individual state finals effort with a +15 159 at the 2018 IHSA Class AA State Finals, and also recorded the program’s best round in state finals play with a +5 77 on the second day
- Tied for 27th at the 2018 IHSA State Finals, which is the second-best placement in program history
- Became the first freshman in program history to qualify for state finals play
- High Honor Roll student and National Honor Society inductee
- Will play for head coach Carly Werwie at Loyola University Chicago, an NCAA Division I institution that is located in Chicago, and is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Werwie is in her first season as Loyola’s head coach.
Nick Stricker – Career Highlights
- Two-year letterman for head coach Bret Kooi
- Was a valuable contributor on the offensive line as a junior and senior, and played a key role on the defensive line as a junior
- Helped the Indians to a 15-7 record, one South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title, and one IHSA Quarterfinal appearances
- Versatile lineman who played at both center and right tackle as a senior in 2018
- Earned honorable mention all-conference honors as Lemont averaged 24.6 points per game

- Will play for head coach Adam Cushing at Eastern Illinois University, an NCAA Division I Football Championship Series institution that is located in Charleston, and is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
