LHS Teacher Honored As Part Of ILCTE 'Exemplary Teacher' Program
The goal of the program is to foster the development of teacher-leaders who can effectively share their expertise with their peers.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School Career & Technical Education Department Chair Scott Duensing was selected to participate in the Illinois Career & Technical Education Innovative Curriculum Resources Project “2019 Exemplary Teacher Program.” The school said the goal of the program is to foster the development of teacher-leaders who can effectively share their expertise with their peers.
According to LHS, exemplary CTE teachers are identified based on one or more of several criteria, including: pedagogy, curriculum, community relations, business and industry partnerships, assessment, technical ability and peer interaction. The nomination and selection process for this program was completed by the school’s regional system director for CTE.
On Feb. 15-16, the Innovative Curriculum Resources Project conducted a specialized professional development event, which included an honorary dinner, several hours of professional development, and a keynote speech from the Director of Innovative Career Education at the University of Arkansas, the school said.

Inclusion among this select group of teachers will afford Duensing an opportunity to make a presentation at a CTE summer academy in June, as well as continuing professional development opportunities.
The ILCTE Innovative Resources Project is a federally funded project, implemented by the Illinois State Board of Education, to provide professional development and innovative curriculum resources to Illinois CTE teachers.
