LHS Thanks Voters For Successful Referendum After Canvassing Complete

The approved proposition will allow the District to increase its debt service extension base to $5 million annually.

LEMONT, IL — The canvassing of the Nov. 8 election is complete, and results were made official on Nov. 29. Official results show that with all the votes counted in Cook and DuPage counties, the referendum question from Lemont High School was approved.

"Successful passage of the referendum gives District 210 the opportunity to sustainably and responsibly address its facility needs, modernize its school infrastructure, and improve learning environments for all students," the District said in a statement.

The approved proposition will allow the District to increase its debt service extension base to $5 million annually. The District 210 Board of Education has committed to not exercising its ability to do so until the district’s previously scheduled bond debt is retired, in 2028.

"The District 210 Board of Education and school administrators appreciate the community’s consideration of this referendum question, and would like to thank everyone who took the time to learn more through asking questions, participating in informational sessions, or reviewing information on the district’s website," the District said.
