LHS Welcomes More Than 40 In Inaugural Rho Kappa Class

Rho Kappa is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School recently welcomed its first class of inductees into the school’s chapter of the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. The school said standout students from both the junior and senior classes - 42 students in all - were welcomed into Rho Kappa.

Rho Kappa is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies. According to the school, to be eligible for induction into the school’s chapter of Rho Kappa, students must: have a weighted cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better; have a weighted grade point average of 3.50 or better in social studies and history courses; complete a written application; and obtain a recommendation from a Lemont High School Social Studies teacher.

  • Seniors Madeleine Amberg, Kayla Baskiewicz, Madison Dasbach, Brendan Daugherty, Victoria Garcia, Matthew Gasienica, Kirsten Kash, Katherine Knutte, Arielle Lyon, Gabrielle Ognar, Rasa Siniakovas, Hannah Sliwa, Emily Stood and Ashley Stramel
  • Juniors Charlotte Albrecht, Sophia Antonopoulos, Abigail Belsan, Caroline Bukowski, Max Celis, Benjamin Clarage, Madison Creamer, Christopher Duda, Hanna Dworkin, Kyla Feltz, Evan Goodman, Cassandra Hamilton, Danielle Hanson, Manisha Joseph, Emily Knutte, Julie Maduros, Jessica Martinez, Julia McCann, Jacob Mielczarek, Aubrey Molitor, Vir Patel, Briley Rakow, Michael Regan, Gabrielle Salomon, Marin Schiffman, Matthew Swenson, Sophia Tally and Hannah Troy.

Amberg is serving as president this year, while Gasienica and Stood are co-vice presidents, Sliwa serves as secretary, and Katherine Knutte as treasurer. Social Studies teacher Rob Wostratzky is the faculty sponsor.
