-10 Wind Chill, Light Snow Possible: IL Weekend Weather

Wind chill values could get as low as 10 below zero on Friday night, and could be near -5 on Saturday.

After some days with mild temps and no snow, temps are back to average and some light snow is expected on Sunday. The National Weather Service said wind chill values could get as low as 10 below zero on Friday night, and could be near -5 on Saturday.

Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high of 28 degrees. Sunday will also be colder with a high of 32 degrees, and a couple of inches of snow is possible, especially around noon.

Ice jams continue to be possible for area rivers, according to the NWS. Conditions will be cold enough for river ice formation over the next several days and ice jams could develop. These jams are possible for Rock, Fox, DuPage, Des Plaines, Iroquois, and Kankakee rivers through late next week.

  • FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 2. Wind chill values as low as -11. West wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight.
  • SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 26. Wind chill values as low as -6. North wind around 5 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.
  • SATURDAY NIGHT: Increasing clouds, with a low around 17. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
  • SUNDAY: Snow likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 29. East southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • SUNDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with a low around 23.
