Local Girl Scouts Kick Off Sock Drive for Families in Need

A local donation effort is underway, as Girl Scout Troop 70360 will be collecting new socks for Lemont families in need. 

The girls of Brownie Troop 360 are looking for men’s socks, women’s socks, kid’s socks, baby socks, sport socks, dress socks, even silly socks—any socks will do—but they must be new. Any quantity of socks is acceptable, including strays, pairs or packages.

Donations can be made at drop boxes in the following locations:

• MB Financial Bank – 1151 State Street
• Lemont Library – 50 E. Wend Street
• The Core Fitness Center (Lemont Park District/127th Street)

The girls—Greta, Jenna, Talia, Sylvia, Ella, Sydney, Kelsey, Madelyn, Anna and Maddy—will be collecting socks through Oct. 20.
