Longtime Lemon Tree Employee Dies: GoFundMe
Mary Beth Splitt had worked at Lemon Tree for 32 years.

LEMONT, IL — Mary Beth Splitt, 67, a longtime Lemon Tree employee in Lemont, died Dec. 3. If you've ever patronized Lemon Tree in Lemont, you've most likely seen Splitt behind the counter, and she was a familiar face to most residents.
Her fellow employee Monica Aseves has created a GoFundMe to support Splitt's family and for funeral expenses.
"Loved by many Mary Beth has been a Lemont stable at our very own Lemon Tree for longer than most people can remember," the GoFundMe says. Splitt had worked at Lemon Tree for 32 years.

"Mary Beth will forever be missed and Lemon Tree will not be the same without her quirky personality."
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, $2,810 had been raised of a $10,000 goal.

According to her obituary, Splitt was the daughter of the late Max (late Ann) Splitt; loving mother of Jason M. Splitt; beloved sister of Maxine Splitt, the late Eddie “Moonie” Splitt, the late Bernard “Butchie” Splitt, and the late Wayne Splitt; dearest aunt of Cindy Toms, Billie Ann Martin, and Victor Pytlewski; fond great-aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
Splitt was very devoted to her family, especially her son, Jason, whom she lived with, and her sister Maxine, whom she visited every day after work. She liked playing various handheld electronic games, and enjoyed taking care of her 10 cats, and her dog.
Visitation Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois St. in Lemont. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment SS.Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
