Marbella Holdings Shares Concept Ideas For Peterson's Property
The concept, called Marbella of Lemont, includes residential, commercial and office units.
LEMONT, IL — Long-time Lemont business Peterson’s Hardware has sold its property to Marbella Holdings, LLC. The property located at 225 Canal Street will be a mixed use, transit-oriented development, according to the village.
On Marbella's website, it has shared some concept ideas for the property in downtown Lemont. The concept, called Marbella of Lemont, includes residential, commercial and office units.
According to the website, the first phase would possibly begin at the end of 2019, pending village approval. That phase would include construction of 4,000 square feet of commercial space and 8,000 square feet of office rental at the southwest corner of Lemont Street and Canal Street.

Phase two would begin in 2020, according to the website. This phase would include the construction of 72 residential rental units and 8,000 square feet of commercial space on the northwest corner of Lemont Street and Canal Street.
Rental units are proposed to have high-end finishes and open-concept layouts. Some proposed amenities include a fitnes center, yoga and meditation lounge, rooftop deck and more.

The ideas shown on the website are just a development concept. All proposals would required public hearings, zoning reviews and meetings with village staff, the Historic Preservation Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission and the village board.
