Massive Sack Lunch-Making Event Continues for its 9th Year on Feb. 4

Warm a Heart Lift a Spirit Sack Lunch & Homeless Care Bag making Event

• Sat Feb 4th 10am @ Old Quarry Middle School

Once again Hope and Friendship Foundation will attempt to top their record and create hundreds of sack lunches with spirit on Saturday Feb 4th 10am-12noon in the Old Quarry Lunchroom.

This event began 9 years ago as an attempt to nourish body and spirits of those who were in a very low place. The lunch is enjoyed immediately but the notes that are packed inside each one of those lunches are read and re-read over and over by those who spend much of their time alone.

The second year of this event when the lunches were being dropped off to Morningstar Mission the man unloading the car was a former "client" now working. He commented "I remember these lunches! I still carry the notes with me." That was my vision and is every year we put our hands, feet and hearts to task on this event.

Donations needed:

For lunches:

inspirational notes (nourishing spirits for long after the lunch is finished); loaves
of bread; cases of bottled water; individual size pretzels, chips;
snacks (granola bars, breakfast bars, cookies, all types of packaged
snacks!)

Hundreds and hundreds of sandwiches, snacks, notes and water bottles will fill more than 500 lunches.

For "homeless assistance sacks":

inspirational notes (these will be carried with the recipient lifting spirits!);
drawstring backpacks (used are just great!); travel size personal care
items; deodorant; men's & women's socks (new); gum; hard candy;
packages of peanut butter and/or cheese crackers; snacks (granola bars,
breakfast bars, all types!)

Bring donations on day of event or drop off prior to Lemont Township Office (1115 Warner Ave- behind Chipain's)
