"Many of the residents don't understand the role the township plays in the community and the services the township provides," Sanderson said. "I would put social media to work for the township and engage our younger residents."
Besides community engagement, Sanderson said he would also focus on financial transparency, competitive bids on projects, better utilization of available resources and communication with residents.
Sanderson believes he will be able to bring a different perspective to the current township board, and he has new ideas to solve current challenges. He also cites his planning and zoning experience as a way he could help with the continued boundary dispute with Palos Park.
"If elected, I will work hard for the Township residents," he said.
Sanderson has a wife, Sara, and two children, Landon and Nora.
