Meet The Candidate For Lemont Village Trustee: Ryan Kwasneski

Lemont Village Trustee candidate Ryan Kwasneski shares his areas of focus he has for Lemont.

LEMONT, IL - Ryan Kwasneski, a Village of Lemont Trustee candidate, has announced his vision and areas of focus that he has for Lemont.

According to a press release, some of Kwasneski's main objectives are to explore economic development opportunities for the village, improve communication and transparency between citizens and taxing bodies, continue the revitalization of downtown Lemont, and to maintain the small town atmosphere that many residents love about Lemont.

On Economic Development: Kwasneski pledges to help enhance policies at the village level to make sure businesses in town succeed and new businesses are attracted to the town.

He added that he would like to explore ways to encourage and attract start-up businesses, specialty businesses, restaurants and retail stores.

Kwasneski also said he will push for the village to hire a full-time Economic Development Coordinator. This position would welcome businesses to town and provide them with assistance. In collaboration with this Economic Development Coordinator, Kwasneski would like to work specifically with the existing shopping center owners to develop strategies for filling the empty storefronts throughout town.

On Communication and Transparency: Kwasneski would like to provide factual information to the citizens of Lemont on items such as existing/future developments as well as any major decisions that will affect the village. He plans to use social media and other means to encourage citizen involvement.

On Downtown Lemont: Kwasneski said he understands the importance of downtown Lemont and wants to continue the revitalization of the downtown area. He wants to promote existing downtown properties for other Transit Orientated Developments.

Kwasneski would also collaborate with the Lemont Chamber of Commerce on new programs to help existing businesses in the downtown area.

On Fiscal Responsibility: Kwasneski believes that practicing fiscal responsibility is essential for the overall success of the Village of Lemont. In addition, he believes the village needs to actively look beyond the normal sources of revenue to fund future projects and help lower the village's tax rate.

On Growth: Kwasneski will aid in the review of future requests for new developments to make sure they are developed in the correct areas of town. Smart growth will provide a balance with the community’s need to grow and the assurance of quality developments.

He said that it is important to keep the unique aesthetics of the village, for both commercial and residential developments.

Kwasneski is a life-long resident of Lemont and has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for over five years. He has also served as a board member for Bethany Lutheran Church in Lemont. He is a graduate of Lemont High School and Illinois State University with a degree in marketing and political science.

Kwasneski currently works at Launch Digital Marketing, a digital marketing agency in Naperville. He plans to use his work experience to raise the profile of the village of Lemont, support businesses and encourage economic development.
