In Memoriam: Beloved Former Trustee, Longtime Lemonter Richard Rimbo

Richard George Rimbo, age 69, of Lemont, died December 23. Employed by Citgo Refinery, retiring after 32 years. He served the Lemont Community as a Little League coach, was a former Member of the Village Board, former Member of the Board of Education for Lemont High School District 210 and former Member of the Board of Trustees for Lemont Fire Protection District. Survived by his wife, Susan, nee Gibbons, Rimbo; four children, Lemont Fire Chief George J. (Agatha) Rimbo, Citgo Fire Chief Brian R. (Allison) Rimbo, Christine (Lt. Joseph) Ostrander, nee Rimbo and Richard G. (Vivian) Rimbo; ten grandchildren; two siblings, Bishop Robert A. (Lois) Rimbo and Janice (John) Rizzo, nee Rimbo; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog Lucy.

Visitation Monday, December 28 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Lying in State Tuesday, December 29, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral services at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, 305 Lemont St., Lemont. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Adult Day Care at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60515.
