Montessori School of Lemont Opens Fitness & Fine Arts Studio

Montessori School of Lemont opens Fitness & Fine Arts Studio; the FFA houses PE, after school care, indoor recess, and so much more!

Our fitness and fine arts studio is now open, located in the basement of our adolescent building! The basement space has been used for a couple different purposes over the years, from being a classroom to being a storage space. However, in order to utilize the space to its fullest potential, the basement has been completely renovated and remodeled to be used by our students

The FFA is already being used for indoor recess, PE classes, and after school care. The remodeled space includes a basketball hoop, soccer goals, plasma cars, different sports balls, exercise equipment, and more. It’s a place to blow off energy and just let loose during or after school.

Not only has the FFA been made available for indoor recess, PE, and after school care, but it’ll also be used for music and art classes. Students will be able to tryout different instruments through our music exploration program, which will allow them to feel what instruments they’re passionate about and which ones they’re not. The space also holds the opportunity to house poetry readings, art displays, play showings--the possibilities are endless.

We’re very excited about this multipurpose space and the students already are too. One of the students was actually overheard saying (during after school care), “This place is better than upstairs AND outside!” We’re looking forward to the FFA’s further uses in the months ahead.
