Montessori School of Lemont takes 2nd at Odyssey of the Mind
Montessori School of Lemont Adolescents Win Second Place at Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament
On Saturday, March 10th, the Adolescent Class of the Montessori School of Lemont traveled to Bellville, Illinois to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament. At the tournament, the team was asked to perform their answer to an assigned long-term problem; the class’s long-term problem was to create a vehicle to transport at least two class members through a maze, then perform a jousting and curling event.
After their assigned problem performance, the class then had to compete in the second half of the competition. Their creativity was tested when they had to complete a spontaneous problem in front of a judging panel. The problem required fast thinking, problem-solving, and ingenuity.
After all the presentations were complete, the MSOL Adolescent class was awarded 2nd place! The following Adolescent team members (who made the trip) were honored with a certificate and second-place trophy: Besnik Shuaipaj, Sean Neiza, Samantha Luhn, Nolan Fletes, and Jarves Jefferies.
The class will now decide if they’ll travel to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University.
