Mulch Fire Shuts Down Archer Avenue Exit at I-355 (Video)

A large mulch fire at Homer Tree Service in Lockport has shut down the Archer Avenue exit at I-355, according to reports.

Archer Avenue, between 135th and 143rd streets, also is closed, according to a Lockport Police Department email advisory. The advisory stated these areas would be shut down for several hours.

Reports of the fire at the business, 14000 Archer Ave., began appearing on the Northern Illinois Firegrounds Photo Facebook page at about 8:45 p.m. As of 9:20 p.m., witnesses reported on the page that the fire was still blazing strong.
