New Coffee Shop Coming To Lemont

The owner of Higher Grounds Coffee Company is hoping to open in October.

LEMONT, IL — Coffee lovers will soon have a new location to satisfy their thirst. A new business, Higher Grounds Coffee Company, is coming to Lemont. Deanna Lileikis, the owner of the coffee shop, is hoping to open in October at 223 Main St. in downtown Lemont.

Lileikis said she has long dreamed of opening a coffee shop.

"I've always had a dream of having my own coffee shop where people can enjoy themselves and have some down time or have a meeting," she said. "It's been a dream 20 years in the making."

The new location is 1,600 square feet and only two doors down from the Metra train station.

Lileikis said the shop hopes to open at 5:30 a.m. so Metra commuters will have a place to stop and get their caffeine fix.

The shop will feature coffee, of course, as well as specialty drinks, and artisan baked goods. Lileikis is hoping to utilize local artisans to provide baked goods for the shop. The shop will have seating like couches and chairs, as well as books and games for guests to enjoy.

"Later on, I'm going to build out a counter so people can plug in and work on devices," Lileikis said. During the warmer months, Lileikis plans to also have outdoor seating for guests.

One special part of the business will be giving back to the community. Lileikis, a resident of Lemont, said she will do a percentage of proceeds toward charities.

"Giving back is important to me, I want to give back to my community," she said, adding that she will start with local charities like food pantries and other community groups.
