New D113A Board Member Appointed

Brian Bushnell will serve the remainder of the term which runs until the April 2023 consolidated election.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education has voted to seat Brian Bushnell to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dave Molitor. Bushnell will serve the remainder of the term which runs until the April 2023 consolidated election, the district said.

The board reviewed 35 applications for the vacancy and conducted interviews with eight finalists.

Bushnell previously served on the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of
Education from 2013 - 2017 where he was a member of the district transportation, wellness, and
discipline/intervention committees, according to the district.

Bushnell was born and raised in Illinois, and is a graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School
and Eastern Illinois University with a major in economics and a minor in business administration.
Bushnell has lived in Lemont with his wife, Stephanie, and two children, William and Sophia, since 2009. Stephanie is a graduate of the Lemont school system and is currently employed at
Lemont High School, the district said.

Bushnell has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry and is the Managing Member of
his own Wealth Management firm and has background in for debt structuring, tax strategy, estate planning and trust structuring, investment management, business succession and philanthropic endeavors, the district said.

Bushnell has also volunteered as a soccer coach for the Lemont Park District, and enjoys spending his time with his family traveling, gathering with friends and being a part of the Lemont community, according to a release from the district.

“We are excited to welcome Brian to the Board,” Board President Damon Ascolani said in a release, “He brings a wealth of knowledge to this position and we look forward to serving with him."
