New Director Of Human Services Joins Lemont Township

Stephanie Covarrubias has joined Lemont Township as its new director of human services, as of July 12.

LEMONT, IL — Stephanie Covarrubias has joined Lemont Township as its new director of human services, as of July 12, the township said in a release.

Covarrubias is a former employee of the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County in the family support and community engagement department, according to the township. She has worked as a family support specialist for the past 4 and a half years. She has also worked as a permanency case manager for a private agency of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Throughout her career, Covarrubias has worked with many children, adults and older adults from vulnerable groups with diverse backgrounds and needs, the township said.

"Stephanie has always found it important to ensure that all people are treated fairly and with equal respect. It is her goal, as well as the township's, that each client leaves with more tools and resources to help them have a brighter future," the township said in a release.
