Oakwood Creation Lab Opens To Students
The Creation Lab offers STEM technology and learning to K-2 students at Oakwood.
LEMONT, IL — District 113A held the ribbon cutting for the Oakwood Creation Lab on Thursday. The lab was created through a $10,000 grant from the Lemont Junior Woman's Club. The District 113A Educational Foundation accepted the grant in March, and now plans have come to fruition.
The lab will provide STEM learning for K-2 students that will encourage natural curiosity, be hands-on and engaging and teach skills that are the foundation for success, the school said. The lab is divided into three catgories: robotics and coding, building and engineering, and creative play.
Materials available for students include: cubelets, Osmo, ozobots, dash and dot, Makey Makey, Squishy circuits, K-Nex, a Lego wall, Strawbees, Rigamajig, kinetic sand, Sugru and weaving looms.
