Oakwood School Raises Money For Hurricane Victims

The money will be donated to the Lemont-Homer Glen Rotary Club to go toward the purchase of a Shelter Box and supplies.

LEMONT, IL — Oakwood students and staff have collected $1,450 for the victims of the recent hurricanes that hit Texas and Florida. The school said under the direction of Early Act sponsors Danielle Arendt and Anita Dominic, the money will be donated to the Lemont-Homer Glen Rotary Club to go toward the purchase of a Shelter Box and supplies.

According to the release, Shelter Boxes provide everything a family needs to survive for up to six months and are delivered through Rotary International. The school said it is proud of the students, staff, and community for their kindness, generosity and support of this charitable endeavor.
