Oakwood Students Step Up for Hope and Friendship Foundation with Sock Drive

The students are running a sock collection through January 31.

In the continued spirit of giving, Oakwood students, families, and staff took part in the school’s Show Your School Spirit: Wear Crazy Socks, Donate a Pair of Socks Day on Friday, January 23.

Oakwood School is sponsoring a sock collection drive through the month of January to benefit the Hope and Friendship Foundation.

“ With the extreme cold temperatures upon us, warm socks can really make the difference in how a person starts the day,” wrote Principal Catherine Slee.

The students are collecting all sizes and types of socks, from infants to adults. Those who wish to donate can drop sox in the box in the school’s hall vestibule.

“We’re hoping to ’top the box’ so all donations are appreciated and welcomed through the 31st!” Slee wrote.
